The Field of Dreams Foundation was delighted to rekindle the annual Harding / Central Thanksgiving Football Breakfast, this year celebrating the 101st edition of a Bridgeport tradition. The event, on Tuesday, November 21st, was held at Vazzy’s 19th Hole Restaurant.
Football and cheerleading team captains, as well as coaches, were presented with commemorative shirts celebrating the upcoming Thanksgiving matchup. Head coaches Artay Corbett of Harding and Brendan Miller of Central recapped their seasons, and former Central Coach and current Asst. Principal Dave Cadelina highlighted some of the past Thanksgiving games and what they meant to alumni, past players, and the City of Bridgeport.
Harding ended up extending their holiday winning streak to nine games, with a 48 – 14 victory on Thanksgiving morning.
